Using heat on Lutrador and Tyvek

Doug Evans

What is Lutrador?

Lutrador is a spun-bond polyester stabiliser and comes in two weights, 70 and 100 grams. 70 gram lutrador melts easier and at a lower hea, whereas 100 gram lutrador is more difficult to melt but better to print on.

What is Tyvek?

Tyvek is a brand of synthetic flashspun high-density polyethylene fibres. Tyvek is didficult to tear but easily cut and water-proof. However, when heated it shrinks and bubbles giving two different textures of bubbles in and out.

My Lutrador and Tyvek samples:

I like these samples as they directly link to my sub-theme, distressed, sheath means I could further use these later in my project.
