Hussein Chalayan
Hussein Chalayan MBE is a Cypriot fashion designer based in Britain. He has won the British Designer of the Year twice and was awarded the MBE in 2006. Chalayan is currently teaching at HW Berlin.
Although his designs are unique and cutting edge, Chalavan gained inspiration from avant-garde designers Yohji Yamamoto, Rei Kawakubo, and Issey Miyake and from experimental designers Pierre Cardin, Alexander McQueen, and Elsa Schiaparelli.
I like Hussein Chalavan's pieces as many of them transform from one design into another look which is interesting and id like to find out how I could take these into my own designs with transforming elements.
