Research into Liberty’s of London.

Doug Evans

Liberty’s of London is a Tudor-revival building filled with high-end fashion and luxury homeware, with its own fabric line.

In 1875, Arthur Lasenby Liberty borrowed £2,000 to set up a London emporium laden with luxuries and fabrics from distant lands. Today Liberty’s is set out over six floors and is full of cutting edge design, unexpected edits and beautiful objects from the worlds greatest, designers and craftspeople.

Liberty is known around the world for its close connection to art and culture, it is most famous for its bold and floral print fabrics. The vast mock-Tudor store also sells men's, women's and children's fashion, beauty and homewares from a mix of high-end and emerging brands and labels.

Liberty is famed for its directional design, cultural collaborations and inspiring curation. Their dedicated in-house design studio is still at the core of all that they do, hand painting and creating beautiful prints and reworking finds from a 45,000 strong archive.
